Default What box to get??

Hey can anyone recommend the best box to purchase?

We used to have a dbox, but during a house move we managed to break the connector at the back that the cable connects to and have been unable to fix it. So we’re thinking of getting a new box.

It was a good box while it worked, but it was becoming a pain having to enter a new key everyday. I also wasn’t too keen on the menu display. Are there any other boxes that have better displays? Basically I’d just love to have one that’s the same as the virgin display, where the channel you’re viewing is displayed in the top right while you’re browsing the menu.

We currently have Virgin Media (Belfast) installed in the house up until the summer, but are there any boxes that’ll still work if we cancel our subscription and don’t pay a penny?

Can anyone suggest some website to buy a new box?

I saw a thread suggesting that all boxes wont work in the new year, does anyone think it wouldn’t be worthwhile to purchase a new box now?

keep paying the minimum sub, then you're guaranteed to still have a live feed to your house.

they might disconnect you in the street, physicallys o no box will work if you're not paying anything.

and don't mess with the boxes they give you. try to get hold of a similar box to use, and leave your existing box plugged in, on some channel you'd normally watch.

I agree with georgiagrrl , if you only need one box its a better bet for you to buy a eurovox or kryptview, rather than buying all the equipment to mod an ex sub one.
is your d box a 1 or 2 ? if it was a 2 you could have had it auto updating .
Lincsat on here does the eurovox, Tailor-made circuits for kryptview.
