Default Advice for RFout from SV3 boxsuper

Hi a quick technical question if any one can help.

I use RFout back to an amplifier to feed the cable channel(added to RF) to other tv's in kids bedroom & ours.

I've noticed the TV picture quality on all channels ie Channel 5 is grainy with the set top box off(standby) but improves when switched on.

1.Does anyone else have this issue?

2.Do you leave your set top boxes on(not stanby) all the time ,so you get good pq for terrestial if you have this problem?

3.As my arial gives a good picture if fed straight to tv(or looped through a vcr) if I fit a splitter on the aerial 1 i/p to main TV & 1 i/p to SV3 box, how much loss of pq will I likely get then?

Thanks

1. Yes that's normal for any device with RF loopthrough.

2. Yes leave it on for best picture if relying on RF signal.

3. Nominally 50% signal level to each device with a 1:2 splitter. Quality will depend on your original signal. If you're in a high signal (i.e. good reception) area then it shouldn't be a problem. Use good quality connectors & splitter, e.g. screw on F-connectors & splitter rather than standard push-on RF plugs.

Thanks guys.
Hadn't noticed the same problem when loping through vcr's, so thought something was wrong.

Good advice on getting a quality splitter & connections.
Cheers
