Default webstar / blackcat

Ok guys I want to have a go with a webstar, tried to 233 with no luck cant get p option anyway, done a little reading and apparently can be done with a blackcat. Now, I have a blackcat fromtcniso will this work without chopping it up? also found bits but anyone know where i might find a decent guide?
Thx

I have looked, i soldered the wires directly onto the pins of the webstar from my 233 as instructed from said guide, so my 5100 blackcat cable wont do? dont see no mention of using a blackcat with a webstar in version 1.7.2

[EDIT] I have read that with some of these modems p wont work and i suspect i have one of those

no you sould get a response with a max233 lead,
check the connectons out using this picture
shows blackcat connection and max233 connection
rx, tx,gnd, vcc is the max233 lead connector
and the 8 pin shows you where the wires go to the 25 way d-plug for the blackcat lead

RX is probably disabled, so it wont accept input.

you need to make an adapter to jtag (blackcat) it, as the pin layout is different.

or on ebay you can buy a webstar jtag lead.

here are better pics for making your own or an adapter.
