dead DM500

Hello guys,
I was updating my friends DB500S with FlashWizard 6.3 which I have used several times without a hitch, it got as far as (Initializing Flash Memory) 87%, then just stopped, tried it anothe couple of times, same thing, tried to shut down with remote, but it had frozen, I then tried reboot, but will not boot up, cannot talk to box with installer or ftp, have also tried DreamUp with serial cable, still nothing, can you help,

How are you conecting your dreambox to your pc. you have to disconnect the box, all cable then load up dreamup, attach the cable click connect then it will tell you to poer up the dream box, power up the dreambox and it should connect. update it your box with another image and should work fine. what cable are you using to connect?

Hi mate,
You need a null modem cable to connect to the box, an ordinary serial cable will not do the job. If and when you get the DreamUp connected remember to erase the old image, in your case the part of an image, before you flash the new image to the box.
