CAMs go into a CI slot on a receiver, to upgrade its decryption capability. A valid Sky subscription card in an appropriate CAM is still required, it just means you can then receive Sky encrypted channels on a non-Sky box.

Cams can be used to decrypt SOME pay tv services. It is not possible to get Sky UK in this manner as the satellite encryption is totally secure..

As I said earlier - You pay for a subscription or you do without.

You share the keys from a valid card across broadband connections. Not for the beginner to the hobby as you need to use linux boxes which have an incrediby steep learning curve.

Not much cheaper than a sky subs anyway as you will need to buy into a commercial server (unless you have a very good friend) and if you are buying into a comercial server you may as well be subbing to sky in the first place.
