if it was bda drivers, you would get an error regarding bda drivers soon as you run the application.

just keep a note of what freq it got to, then start your scan from there.

might take a few attempts, but once you got all the channels you dont need to do it again

Audio Codec: FFDShow (in white)
Video renderer: Video Mixing renderer 9 (in red)
Audio renderer: Default directsound device (in white)

No matter what combination of video codec and renderer I use (I have K-Lite mega pack installed) with whichever combination of renderer it always gives me the same message when I click Ok:

"Incompatable codec or renderer combination is selected. Graph couldnt be created."

I put my versions in my sig but I cannot see it so I guess sigs might be disabled...
In case you need to know:

Windows XP SP3
TechnoTrend Budget C-1501 - BDA 5.0.0.6 Driver
DVB Dream 1.4i

What are you thinking? Maybe install FFDShow on its own?

-= 2nd Edit =-

Have installed trial version of nVidia codec, no difference, still video codec is in red and video renderer is in red.

Have purchased DVB Vewier to see if that is any better, but dont expect the email from them until tomorrow.
Ok mate try this, video codec= nvidea, audio codec= nvidea, video renderer= video mixing renderer (not 9, could be your problem) audio renderer= your default sound device, then apply these should be listed on the right under direct show filters, see if you have any luck. BTW don't buy nvidia codec PM me.

@Bad_Ad84, I have tried at least 2 transponder files that failed in more then one place and have moved past (unticked) the ones that failed. The problem seems to be that everytime DVB Dream gets a signal it will crash. Will keep trying though.

@Willin, All the video codecs are in red, even after choosing the ones you recommended. Have attached a pic to show you what I mean, as it is easier to understand a pic then understand me!

-= Edit =-

Ill tell you what I will do, I will reinstall this setup on another image (I image HD regularly) and see if that makes any difference. Maybe I missing some strange but important bits of the inside of windows or something.

By the time I get back from work, I expect to have DVB Vewier and be able to tell you if that makes any difference. Thanks for your help so far guys!

Hmmm, just a thought, have you the latest direct x installed _http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displaylang=en ?? only thing from your pic is put a tick in "reset direct show on buffer overflow" let us know about DVBViewer, I notice those two in red are not showing in direct show filters!!

Great minds think alike!

I already checked my DirectX just to be sure, it reported back A-OK. Did the tests just to see if they worked, they did.

The tick has been on and off with no difference in the "..on buffer overflow" box.

I got the details for DVB Vewier so will try that now.

I think I may be asking you guys for help on something I may have done wrong myself. I have XPLite'd my installation and am now thinking that perhaps I took one too many things out. Will test that theory out now.

Oh, and Honcho, I want commission on any sale originating from my thread .

By the way guys, I have virgin internet and telephone, that shouldnt affect things should it, i.e. not having a cable tv subscription yet?

Thanks for the replies so far. Latest news is, as we speak (hehe) DVB Vewier is scanning away without crashing and has found 270 "programs" (that I guess could be TV or radio) and counting.

This is MUCH more then DV Dream did. Funnily enough, in this hard drive image I have gone back to, DVB Dream has all the codecs in red, video and audio, so it is going to be config issue I have. Most likely I did some more codec installing or XPliting between images.

Fingers & eyes crossed, this will do it. I still will not give up on DVB Dream, I know its good from what you guys have said. Once again, thanks for your help so far!!

Great!

Its working with DVB Vewier once it had scanned. Havent really got around the problem, just bypassed it.

I will now work on vPlug and then getting DVB Dream going. Thanks for your help so far!

I will probably revive this thread if I cant get DVB Dream going later!!
