Default Re: DVB Shop

Honcho, sorry, I cant do that. Im not being awkward, its just not there. It was from DVB Shop (google) but its gone. On page 1 of this thread I think willin kindly posted a link to another shop but the place I got it from no longer seem to sell it.

As for my card, I managed to play around with it and having never read about vplug (main aim was to get FTA going first) I got it going. The vplug thread was helpful in pointing me in the right direction everytime I got stuck, almost like it was written with me in mind, knowwing I would read it, spooky .

Only thing is so far I have to disable DVB Card on starting windows, then re-enable it so I can get system sound otherwise nothing works, winamp, media player classic, nothing, huh .

Anyway thanks guys.

Cool Re: DVB Shop

Hey Honcho, was it helpful me mentioning the sound issue I had? If so, read on...

On starting windows all system sound is non-functional. Everything is correct in settings, e.g. control panel, directx, whatever...

A simple disable & re-enable without restart sort that out.

Being the type that cant be bothered to manually do that and in the hope that this might help anyone else out there I will list my current solution.

Please mention if anyone else has this issue, or something even remotely similar!

Download DevCon The DevCon command-line utility functions as an alternative to Device Manager

from this link http://download.microsoft.com/downlo...240/devcon.exe and copy it to your %windir%.

Then create a simple batch file with the following two lines

Code:
@devcon disable *0480 > %TEMP%\null
@devcon enable  *0480 > %TEMP%\null
The *0480 should be the unique HardwareID of your device (it is for me). You can find this by right clicking on My Computer > Manage > Hardware...Find your device > Double Click it, under Details tab it should be listed under Device Instance ID.

Save the batch file in All Users > Startup menu and hey presto, you have a freaky workaround for a problem I dont understant!

Now to get the darn remote to work with this card .
