Hello again everyone.
I tried over the Christmas holidays to order the TT Budget C1501 card as recommended by Mr Insaan elsewhere on this forum. All went well except the bit where I was drunk and may have perhaps accidently put in the wrong email address for myself. Not to worry. Well, I checked today to see if I could login and check status (fail - wrong email address) and it seems they no longer sell the TTC1501. My question: What should I buy now? I dont mind spending a little more if I have to in order to get a slightly better card (hardware MPEG2?) but I want to know if you think vplug will still work in the same way as I was planning to use it on the TT-C1501. DVBSHOP - Technotrend,Mystique,TeVii,Kathrein,Shop,DVB-S,DVB-C,DVB-T,HDTV,H.264,DVB-S2 Seems I have the choice of the C2100 or the C2300. What do you guys think? As alway, thanks for reading! |

Thanks for that, shame I didn't see that one first, but I wanted to stick to the tried and tested (that other users had brought from).
At the moment I have my money tied up with them (DVBShop) and I hope they tell me I was one of the lucky last few to get the card, but if not then I guess I am better off asking for a refund and going for your link. Safer to stick to the card we know works and use a different shop then stick with same shop and try a different card. Is it not an advantage to have hardware MPEG2 decoding? Could be wrong, but pretty sure DVB-C streams in MPEG2 so you don't need the card to recode into MPEG unlike analogue cards.

Ahah! So if I understand you correctly, there is no advantage to having hardware MPEG2 decoding as it isnt done with DVB-C.
Great. Now all I need is a reply from DVBShop about my stuck money. Thanks guys, I will report back here on my progress. |

Thanks for the heads up, although I have only received this card yesterday so I will try to get it running first.
Working without a guide, but some help from forum has seen me through to getting card (TT C-1501) installed with BDA drivers (?) and DVB Dream to test it. While scanning using bruteforce.ini file it crashes DVB Dream when it find a frequency with some channels on it. The Close App screen comes up but the DVB Dream continues to finish the one its on and at one point found about 12 channels (I think Disney was in there, only saw the list for a second). It then halts on the next frequency for ever, until I end program, disable card, re-enable card from device mngr and restart DVB Dream. So to summerise, at the moment I cant get FTA channels and I suspect DBA because of the error in its log: SetTuner() 210916, 268539352, 6952000 LOF:5 22Khz:0 FAILED: cannot get IDVBSTuningSpace interface Status: Locked Locked bSignalLocked:1 bSignalPresent:0 lStrength:100 lQuality:100 Am now going to try something other then DVB Dream. Maybe buy DVB Vewier, shame there is no trial version of that, hate to waste $16 Euros

Hmmm, you may be on to something there. I thought that at this stage (initial setup, tuning...no pictures to be displayed) there would be no codec involvement but looking in the Options > Video menu shows:
Video Codec: Elecard 3.x (in red) Audio Codec: FFDShow (in white) Video renderer: Video Mixing renderer 9 (in red) Audio renderer: Default directsound device (in white) No matter what combination of video codec and renderer I use (I have K-Lite mega pack installed) with whichever combination of renderer it always gives me the same message when I click Ok: "Incompatable codec or renderer combination is selected. Graph couldnt be created." -= Edit =- I put my versions in my sig but I cannot see it so I guess sigs might be disabled... In case you need to know: Windows XP SP3 TechnoTrend Budget C-1501 - BDA 5.0.0.6 Driver DVB Dream 1.4i What are you thinking? Maybe install FFDShow on its own? -= 2nd Edit =- Have installed trial version of nVidia codec, no difference, still video codec is in red and video renderer is in red. Have purchased DVB Vewier to see if that is any better, but dont expect the email from them until tomorrow. Last edited by erjin999; 06-01-09 at 11:29 PM. Reason: Added version info. |

Sorry, too much editing will make my posts look cluttered.
Here is a link to the screen when it crashes. Any and all help appreciated. Even if its a shot in the dark, as I am a little stuck! ![]() It proceeds to complete that one scan as the progress bar makes it way to the right and then lists about 10 TV channels ("nameless" usually, but once or twice in 20 scans the names came up) and stops on the next frequency.
