I've some how locked myself out of my ambit 250 modem! I was wondering were abouts the max 232 cable connects on the PC? I want to make sure I have the right port on my pc before I purchase a cable.

it uses the serial/com port, it has nine pins

Okay I have purchased a max 232 cable! But the connecter on the end only has 4 holes while my modem has 5 spikes? (inside modem) Is this right?

yea that right from what i can remember , black wire goes on the end spike closest to the Ethernet socket.

Double check this info first mate
