Default i want to record xbox 360 whilst playing

Morning,

Well for some time now I've been trying to find a way to record the games from my 360 when playing them and then loading them onto my pc so i can edit them in some video editing software.

How ever I'm hitting problems.

I had a DVD/VHS/HDD combo machine that when selecting the 360 i got a message to say that "this recording is not allowed" maybe some thing to do with macro vision on the 360 i don't know.

So then i bought a hard drive recorder, like a stand alone system that allowed any input, it basically runs from my scart switch where all the inputs go into it, i can record from the 360 and then drag the file from the unit across my network and straight into the video editing suite.

wrong.....it will only record the 360 when it's set to 50mhz and when selected to 60 mhz which most games as you know can only be played in this it records but i get it jumping back wards and for wards in colour and stretching etc.

Some one suggested getting a cheap dvd player and removing the macrovision of it but question is will this allow me to record it as i know 60mhz is ntsc ?

any one else out there do it?

PC TV/capture card, the software on these normally allows configuration to any combination of worldwide TV standards.

in the sitting room i only have a lap top, tried one of them usb capture things and it was in black and white when i had the 360 set to 60mhz....the capture files were massive as well....like 100's and 100's of meg....the original driver for the usb capture card would just place screen shots all over......i know it was a cheap one like but that why i then stepped up to a HDD recorder....
