just in case anyone else finds it as useful as my dad, the asda £50 satnav (binatone X350) will run tomtom software if its put on a card in it, making it a much more useful satnav for no much money. the uk map and software will fit on a 256 sd card, which shouldn't be absolutely buttons

Its up to you but I would prefer a real tomtom as some gps units are ridiculusly slow, Ive been looking at the different ones at halfords website and not sure of which one to go to , if anyone could reccomend a tomtom or garmin could you look for me?
cheers or a garmin would be good. I used to have a navman but looking to upgrade. but saying that if the binatone is good please let us know! |

I bought a tomtom 730 recently, and have been well impressed with its capabilities. Its a bit pricey but Im smitten with it

Just for added information: if you have a Nokia smartphone a cheap way to get a decent satnav is to go into Nokia shop who (in London at any rate) have been doing a deal of a GPS receiver plus 3 years' free UK & Europe navigation for about £20. I think the receiver is called something like Nokia 3 LDW.
