Hi
I'm in a similar position and would like some clarification on this please.... I already have a modified box and it came with a titanium card - that my contact says I now need to replace for 25 quid. So now I'm going to invest in a programmer and a fun card - do I need an unlooper to get the IRD and BK from the titanium card??? or is there another way? Thanks [You need two numbers to write a card for the box one is the IRD number the second is the boxkey number BK. If the card is the original CC card ie N*L or Virmin it will most likely be locked to prevent you reading it in a programmer because they don't want people reading their cards. An unlooper/glitcher is designed to interrupt the card and break it out of the loop it is in to allow you to then read the card in your programmer. In some cases it is very important that you are able to obtain the details off the card because it is impossible to obtain them any other way!!! So do not screw the card up by randomly using software that you are not sure what the effects will be, use Nagra Edit 4.1 and try a read only on the card as detailed in the Novice guide well worth a read for all newbies.[/quote] |

A titanium card is not an original card so will not need a unlooper to open it while you are waiting for your phoenix programmer you could start researching how to program the titanium card and use that.

I'm trying to define what is the area I'm in and might thinking in the wrong way. Correct me if I'm wrong. When saying type of area is pure N*L it means that there is only N*L in that area? bcs there is no other provider exept Sky (but they are satelite, i think)

In the early days there were a number of independent cable providers which have over time, due to financial difficulties etc, been purchased by the strongest player until we are where we are with Virmin. Unfortunately the old setups still exist so you will in one of three areas Pure N*L, Ex C*able and W*reless, T*lewest even though these companies either do not exist or are no longer involved in UK cable. Each region has its own network identity number Net ID and frequency which must be setup correctly for the area you are in.

That's what I'm doing. Reading, reading and again Reading. The thing is I'm in the IE not UK as I excpect it's absolutley different story.
But Question remains: Is there a any method to to find out what my area is, just to make sure, that reading-reading-reading? |
