Not knowing anything about AV and some of the standards and processes used, but being of an electronic engineering background, what baffles me is how can a picture quality be improved by simply artificially adding more pixels? All you are doing surely is interplolating the pixels you have already and sticking some extra ones in between. Blurry low resolution picture before just becomes a bigger blurry picture that uses a lot more pixels.

Have to say, i had a diablo for a couple of days and didn't think digitalB was all that bad... I wondered what all the fuss was about!
I can't check again tho as the effing thing wouldn't interact with my sshd2 and just bloody froze all the time
When the new sat is in position the image quality should be better tho eh??

I'd agree with that some of the new tv's have up scale technology that is supposed to be pretty good, but i haven't seen much evidence of this i think the fact that connections from dvd's went from scart to hdmi meant a lot got away with bullsh*tting ....

its the quality of the source they are using on the channels and how much bandwidth they are using as digitalb on 16e isn't good on lcd tv but if you check out the channels on 1west they look very nice on my tv here

As you have a PC card do you think perhaps some codecs get a better pic out of the signal? I really didn't think digitalB looked bad....
