Default 28.2 north / south beams

Hi all , And a happy new year too all.

Now , can anyone explain to me the 28.2 north south beam thing ?

I have set up a 1.85 dish in northern spain, with a 00.3 db lnb , i am after the freesat channels, i get bbc,all regions, itv, most regions, itv+1, +2 ect with a signal quality of round 50%, changeing the lnb to a 00.2 db has given me a better signal ie 59% quility is 60-70 , BUT i cant seem to get channel 4/5 or bbc two, which i get at home in the uk with a 80cm ,
Where am i going wrong, or can i only get 1 beam in spain , i know i am on the boarder of the footprint, but if i get 60% of channels why cant i get the others????
ANY HELP WOULD BE GOOD
Cheers
Rodders

Hi, look at/click on column 8 on this page
Eurobird 1 & Astra 2A/2B/2C/2D at 28.2°E - LyngSat

It shows the theoretical coverage of each beam, and explains why you may get some and not others.

Although your problem with bbc2 is that it is on Astra 2D ( no north or south beam), however BBC2 is one of the channels that is more difficult to get in some fringe reception areas.
