The chip on the board is a 25l6405dmi-12g

looks like theres serial and maybe SPI access on the board.

Thats what I thought, although they are 2mb files though. Should have been a tadge better, maybe somethin wrong with his camera.

i was right, it has serial access, ive just seen the hyperterm log.

nothing overly interesting as of yet

Apart from DOCSIS3,

looking at the hyperterminal log, does it look like they have implemented anything more secure compared to the older modems? or could you not tell until you mess about with one?

ive not got one, its docsis 3, and docsis 3 requires BPI+.

which means you will probably need a full dump of the modem to get online, not just mac address.

Just looked up the BPI+, seems its real added security compared to the other DOCSIS..

Am I right in saying it has two encryptions, BPI+ for the DES and then the SEC for the AES

Are these the main encryption factors in the data flow? They look pretty hefty.

I hear that the new standard 3.0 is already in place in some countrys.. how are they getting on?

Also, 1.0 was done, 2.0 was done, so could i safely say that 3.0 would be done over time?
