HI, someone please help!

After 6 hours I have (I think) set up my wireless Belkin router so my laptop can share the desktop broadband connection and I am typing this on my desktop. The laptop has a wireless signal and I have tried email on the laptop which is working fine.

When I try to access the internet through IE, you get usual message IE cannot display webpage. I have looked at lots of sites and tried some of the various suggestions re XP firewalls. Another bizarre thing is that I have Mcafee loaded and I can verify the subscription but I cant actually open the Macafee security centre.

Any ideas out there?

Ali, have you tried using another browser such as Firefox? Do you have something like that installed?

Simply that I'm not sure at present whether there's a router configuration problem, or whether IE is still caching your error page.

Did your laptop previously have any kind of www connection?
If it did then within the IE setup for connection it might be using a proxy or something.

Just sounds like the Browser is still working in offline mode.. You may just need to click "File" and select Work Online mode...
