I am trying to investigate the possibility of sending out audio from my PC wireless-ly to be picked up by a various receivers that will feed into various pieces of stereo equipment.
I know there are various wireless devices that you can buy to do this but I was curious to know if this is possible via a standard wireless internet router? I currently have a belkin wireless router (not sure of the model as I am not with it at the mo). Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Cheers |

In short no. You need a pc on both ends to interpret to signals
Though in theory it would be possible if... You used a pc to send the audio to another pc on the network to pass on the audio to your speakers or whatever plugged into that pc. You would have to write the software to allow this as I don't know anything available to do this at present. |

There are a number of manufactures that make equipment that will stream from your PC to another room.
Sonos are one manufacture that make zoned players and they have a very good user interface, similar to an iPod. Link here Sonos - Wireless Multi-Room Music System Logitec also do one that is cheaper but i have never used one so don't know how good it is. Link here Logitech® Squeezebox™ Hope this helps.
