You cant, it will never work, unless you get a scart rgb to vga scan convertor, costs about 50 quid for the cheapest, and then it wont be that great picture quality.. Best option, plug xbox into a Telly, or buy a new LCD Telly, that can be used as both computer monitor and TV for your Xbox..
You can get 19" widescreen LCD tellies for not much over hundred quid these days.. Last edited by nibblitz; 10-01-09 at 01:15 AM. |

ignore him above
you can get a cable straight from the xbox to a pc monitor 2 of my friends have them but on the instructions inside it says that it will not work on all pc monitors so if you have brought the right cable then it looks like your one of the unlucky ones that its not compatible with if not and you have tried to bodge it then just buy the real cable cost around 15 quid go into any game shop and just tell them you just want to link you xbox console to a pc monitor and they will sort the cable for you |

Umm, ignore your own uneducated response more like... I said it will never work for him, and it wont, his monitor clearly isnt HDCP compatible, otherwise it would have worked.. Do you even know what you're talking about,,, theres no point in him buying the straight through cable, it will not work on his monitor, numb nuts...

Sorry to interupt guys but a monitor for the xbox doesnt have to have hdcp especially as hdcp isnt available over vga only dvi and hdmi. Can we just clarify this is the xbox 360 were on about also isnt it. if so it looks like your monitor isn't able to show the resolution the xbox is outputting. change the xbox settings to the lowest available in the dashboard then connect to the monitor and if still shows out of range buy a new monitor sorry.
