Default Distribution Amplifier Problems

I have analogue cable with channels on both VHF and UHF, in the attic I have an SLx Gold 8 Way Amp with 2 inputs FM/DAB and UHF and 8 Outputs.

When I connect the incoming cable directly to the TV reception is reasonable but not great, when I connect it directly to my Eurovox Max V reception is fantastic and I get all the channels on the CDF file for my area.

Then when I route the incoming cable through the UHF input of my SLx Gold 8 Way Amp I lose the VHF channels and when I route it through the FM/DAB input I lose the UHF channels. On the Max V I get nothing when routed through the UHF input and about 80% of the channels when routed through the FM/DAB input.

Then when I use a 1 input 3 output splitter and connect the outputs to both the UHF and FM/DAB inputs to the amp I get all the channels on the analogue TV tuner and most of the channels on the Max V. When I take the 3rd output directly to the Max V it works perfectly but reception on the other TVs running from the amp is poor with ghosting on several channels.

I'm thinking of getting a diplexer but before I splash out any more money I would like to get the advise of the great people who contribute to this site. Thanks

Your eurovox max is digital not analogue, you must still have an analogue signal on the cable if your tv tuner is analogue, this has finished in a lot of places now and by 2012 will be gone, you wont get a great signal and many channels straight to your tv without an analogue cable box, your probably stretching it a bit trying to feed a few tvs with it even with an amp, i dont think its worth buying a diplexer.
Have you tried with splitter one cable direct to eurovox, then one cable to amp and outputs from amp to tvs

Thanks reddiesel, I tried that and the eurovox signal remained great but the analogue remained poor but watchable on most channels with goosting on the others.

My final configuration is a 4 way splitter before the amp feeding 3 eurovox and the 4th going to the amp for analogue on other tvs. All 3 eurovoxs are working perfectly, so I can't really complain, and I can live with the analogue. Not sure what value the amp is really adding.
