Default Skystar2

Having a few problems with my skystar2. Would appreciate any information, ideas or feedback.

Installed the card with the drivers recomended on here by users. doesn't seem to be having any conflicting problems. But no matter how many times I try and scan it seems not to pick up channels correctly.

I have been using by mini dish feed as it is pointing at 28.2, and would have good support in the software. That way settings are kind of already configured and I don't have to add details like I would if I used my 1W feed.

Anyway. I seem to be having problems with server4pc. If I right click the icon that is in the tray, and select 1 of the broadband services on 28.2, the card will pick up signal and scan transponders. If I don't I get a card not started alert on progdvb. Even then it won't stay picking up signal it will drop off, and when i check server4pc it has changed settings. Surely this option is just for broadband? Is it even necessary to be installed? But I assume it is, as like I said, my card won't work without it.

It then takes about an hour to scan Tp's in server4pc and the closest I have come so far is 2 seconds of ITV2+1 in dvbviewer.

Any ideas? Pretty frustrated.

Cheers.

Cheers, I will try that.

Does server4pc need to be installed for the card to work?

Are you on dvbv4?
dvbserver is in the prog files... as part of the package.
I'd say it's quite possible you've a too many cooks spoil the broth situation?? try a fresh install removing progdvb etc.. would be my advice?

Server4PC is required at this is part of the cards driver I believe, if it's not active then no software can use the BDA driver.
I also get the problem of if I don't select an ISP on 28.2 the little icon stays red until you select it. After that I don't get any problems scanning the transponders though.
I've never used Server4PC to scan the transponders, I always do it in DVBViewer, it scans them no problem.
I had problems with the demo version of ProgDVB, it kept telling me the card wasn't active.
