Default eurovox ex5000

I have purchased eurovox 5000 today! I have then purchesed a hitachi 160gb harddrive. I know the post recommend seagate and western digital harddrives 80gb-120gb. But the hitachi 1 was the only 1 available. I wanted to purchase 80gb but they were out of stock! So I bought the hitachi 160gb thinking it may still work. I've read another post saying hitachi also works but 80gb example. I have bought PATA as i know SATA doesn't work. It is also 2.5inch. I seems to slot in okay as front goes up. But when trying to record its saying not inserted correctly or hd is full. Do I have to do anything else to make it work. There isn't a jumper with harddrive. But it does show 1 at bottom let hand corner or cable. Don't think this problem though although not sure!
Please advise.

that is the normal message that you get when you have a hard drive installed. The message does not come on when you have a recording on the hard drive.Try a test recording to see if it works but in the past people have tried larger than 120gb without success good luck

i got that message when i first put hard drive in mine, with the recomended hd so i pulled it out and put it back in VERY carefully, and its working ok, just try that, should be fine. mind you, its a bit ov a tw** to get it to come out, i had to use pliers to pull it out. put some better quality tape on it tho, ie: ductape
