Default Where do I start

Just bought a vantage hd 6000s (ebay £100) that should arrive this week, I plan to connect to existing sly dish to get FTA and Freesat HD. Going forward though, I would like to see what else I can get from other sats.

Questions from a bewildered noob:
  1. To do so,can I just go out and by a motor for my sly dish, if so any recomendations?
  2. Vantage says nothing about having usals, but it does have DiSEqC 1.0, 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 - are these the same?
  3. Vantage has two cams slots and two card readers - is this worth having? As I believe to explore further I will still only need 1 slot for a diablo cam with underworld and a cas3 programmer ?
Many thanks in advance.

Wow you did well on the price well done. The Vantage will have DiSEqC 1.0,1.1,1.2 and 1.3 , 1.2 and 1.3 is for driving a dish motor, but if you intend using just for freesat you can ignore these. But you will need a 80cm dish in the South or 100cm dish Manchester or above and a motor such as the Technomate 2200 super, couple this with a diablo light and cas3+ you will get Canal+ on the Thor Satellite that shows some great HD programming, football, movies etc.

Not worth messing around then with sky dish, will try and find another bargain for motor and 100cm dish.

those vantage 6000s receivers i spotted on ebay as well , nearly bought one and saw next day they had withdrawn the auction and put the price up to 149

yes the 2 card slots are worth having as you can patch the receiver so it will read art, aljazeera sports card etc as standard they only accept conax cards

you can use either slot for the diablo cam
