checking tb status...

i mentioned as part of another post, but it never got answered, but its something i really wanna check as i dont dare us the box at the min...

how do i check if tb is cut on a pace 4010 running 3.3 (old blue and yellow epg)...?

i dont have a flashing light on the front, and the middle light (the one people say is tb) flashes when i use the remote... and yes, its def the middle light.

looked in eng menu, but nothing obvious...

Take card out receiver, switch on box.
Click the settings button on remote, then press 6 (technical stuff)... You should see 'DHCP status' as Return Path Is OFF if you have cut talkback. If it says Return Path Is ON, then you haven't!!

just a thought if you have a 4010.thats a pure box if its on old menus ....and not rolled up do you have update mod done or are you in cw..or tw

this only applies to the current 3.6 version... i'm running the old blue epg version, i think its 3.2 or 3.3

i'm using it in c&w...

i was under the impression that somewhere in the engineers menu it should tell me?

you dont need to worry its not being looked for at the head end .....thats why it dont update ...they dont think that 4010s are on that network..

Would that mean you would be able to use talkback maybe? Or not

so would that mean talk back could be left on and wouldn't get in trouble? or would the current catch up and on demand not run on the old software? i'm not wanting to try it, just from with u saying they wont see it at the head end, made me wonder...

do any areas still use the old software? as the gut who gave e the box told me it was in use in pure... so that makes me wonder ehy it never updated...

if i have a tv drive or a sammy 2110...and they are original from tw... and i put them on cw they wont lock on return path lite just flashes and your not gona be able to book or catch up blah blah its just like cuttin tb theres no hand shake ....the reason its never updated because the head end vermin n'l as far has there conserned that mac an model is not on there net work ...hope this helps
