Explanation Please

When I bought my flat it came with a PACE DS430N Sky Digibox.
In the box was a SKY digital viewing card. There is a dish on my roof and I know where the sat coaxial cable jack is....

Just a few questions.
My understanding is that FTA are sat channels that are unencrypted and only require a DVB-compliant receiver. Does this mean that with this device (even not using the card) that I should be able to watch FTA channels? If the card is required to watch FTA, will I need to purchase a new one or pay a subscription fee to SKY?
Basically, with the setup I find myself with, what can I watch without shelling out any cash to SKY?

Hi, You will get all the SD channels on this page that have a red F in column 5

Eurobird 1 & Astra 2A/2B/2C/2D at 28.2°E - LyngSat

plus with the card inserted you will also get ch4 and ch5 on the EPG, plus a few otherchannels like Fiver, five US etc, plus Sky 3.

Hi all the terrestrial channels on the Astra 2 group of satellites, @28 degrees East, are now FTA and you do not need a Sly card for them, the only use for a Sly card is Sly 3 and lets face it, what is on it? You can do without 1/2 houe ads for holidays and sh!t shows that were broadcast at least 5 years ago on Sly 1.

It has been muted that Sly will be changing their cards this year, so if the old ones work or not is not know, but I would venture that they will not work, but then again, you don't really need the thing.
