I got a 255 modem and have connected to it using hyperterminal. i get to the pres '1', '2' or 'p' and i press p and it asks for ip. but when i go to type in the ip it is all gobble de goop. no numbers appear and i cant get any further.
im sure i am doing something so silly here. any ideas how tp put in the ip address correctly? i feel like a bit of a knob asking but i think im close

tried it round the other way and its not doing anything. I will try and explain it a bit better, whats happening here.
I bought this modem around august all ready flashed with infinite. now i could telent in to it using 250_configurator and change macs etc then middle of december the mac went down so i used 250_configurator but it would not let me telnet into it anymore(it says unable to open 192.168.100.1). so someone said get a max232 serial, and thats where i am today with the problem below, i have added a few extra bits highlighting whats going on. i have tried all numbers along the top of the keyboard and it just dont type in numbers, its only screwing the keys up in hyperterminal. i have also used putty with same results. Its really wierd. unless someone has seen this before its hard to describe what its doing. once i press 'p' it comes up Board IP Address [0.0.0.0] : then if i press the number 1, it gives me a space if i press number 9, it gives my a 0 if i press number 2, it gives me another space and when i press the dot it clears the screen in hyperterminal. also when i press the backspace key i get a ~ and when i press return it deletes like the backspace should do. as i said the keyboard lets me put in the 'p' key ok. I have checked and double checked me settings, i have tried the cable other way round and get no results. i just have run out of ideas? Last edited by DanUK; 14-01-09 at 12:13 AM. |
