cant find satalites

need help finding satalites asap, i can locate thor, hotbird, hipsat, and a couple other cant detect the astra 1/2 and any others, i have a 90cm moterized dish octogan 918hd receiver please reply asap

check yer poles straight, if it is check that dish is mounted straight on motor... if not god knows???

Not much chance that it has anything to do with his pole, he is, after all, receiving Thor and the two Astra birds have a much wider and stronger footprint.

I am not familiar with your box, but I would suggest that you have a look to see if the two Astra sats are in your list of sats. Your nox might be trying to find the sats, but the default transponder is not being used any more. In the case of Astra 1 your default transponder might well be one of the TPS ones and they will not all be getting used these days. It might help you if you go to http://en.kingofsat.net/satellites.php and check for a good frequency and try it when searching for the sats.

i guess you're right mate, i'm no expert...
i got all the west and none of the east on my first set-up cos i had the motor skew-if, but the sats he's getting are either side of the arc

The pole could be wonky and still get some western sats and not the eastern sats if the motor position on the pole is incorrect too.

The dish not centrally on the motor will cause a similar problem.

Have a look at the motor set up guides and follow one of them. If the guides are followed to the letter, it will work.
