Hi all, i'm starting to dabble in newsgroups after getting a bit sick of torrent sites where my upload speed makes it impossible to keep a good ratio.

Can someone recommend a good value newsgroup? Currenly on a free trial from hitnews but astraweb seems good at $11 per month unlimited.

One question - when i do a search for nzb's with nzbmatrix etc - can i download anything i find regardless of who my newsgroup server is? ie do all the newsgroups have the same files or do some have more than others?

If so where is the best place to search for stuff?

I use usenet my provider is newshosting.com $15 unlimited downloads 12 connections retention will in the next week or so increased to 250 days
As for creating NZB's I have used matrix but much prefer newzbin.com bad news, you just missed the xmas promotion they do ever year and that half price, when i usually topup for the year. Yes you can download from any group providing its on your providers servers..

Can you login on another pc, share an account in other words? Is there any clients that you can restrict bandwidth? I'm using grabit but it downloads at max all the time, no good when your trying to do some surfing etc!

I have used my account elsewhere but its rare I do, think they frown upon sharing accounts
