Post School buses get free Wi-Fi

The kids of today seem to have things handed to them on a plate, and they are now getting free Wi-Fi access on the school bus, possibly to keep them quiet while travelling. The Green Bus Company, which operates the school buses in the Birmingham area, has announced that they will be providing their passengers [...]

Good grief. 20 years ago when I was commuting between Cannock and Wolverhampton on Midland Red the big draw for the service was a bus equipped with a radio tuned to Beacon Radio

For a while it was left accessible to the drivers but apprently Beacon who paid for the install got very upset when they found the drivers had been tinkering with the tuning and the buses were coming back to the depot with Radio 1 on!

At this point it was sealed up in a metal box!

Anyone from the Midlands remember the Midland Red Bendibuses that operated out of Cannock depot?

There were five - one of which wasnt in service very long as it was parked in the depot and stripped for spares - I used to pass it every day and it looked increasingly forlorn as bits were nabbed of it. This one was eventually broken up, but DAK 301V-DAK 304V were exported to Australia.
