Can Ring of Death Happen because it's chipped?

I recently had my XBox chipped and then a few days later I had the ring of death which the guy came who chipped it came out and fixed it (for a price), However it has now happened again and I was wondering if anyone know's if the box being chipped might have done something to cause this as the Xbox is just over a year old and not really played to the max so a biy annoyed to keep parting with money. Will I ever really get this fixed once it happens?

Any Help would be great.

No, flashing the console would not force RROD. You get the dreaded 3 lights when your console overheats. There isn't really a permanent solution other than to get another console. Every XBox has a slight chance of getting the RROD - even the new 60GB Premium consoles.

I did have the 3 lights the first time it went this time I just have the 1 red light in top left, Is that as bad this time?

What error message is on screen? It will be E something, e.g E64.

get the secondary error code mate press the wifi button on the front KEEP it pressed while pressed, press eject 4 times you will get a number of lights each time so you end up with 4 numbers 4 lights is a zero btw

He obviously didnt fix it properly then.. I have fixed well over a dozen 360's, not one has developed the rrod fault since.. There's two types of fixes people do, a quick fix temporary bodge, and a proper permanent fix.. Your guy most certainly did a quick bodge if its happened again, he probably just followed some crappy solution off youtube or summat..

I just get a message on screen stating for me to contact some customer support it comes in many different landuages.

Can I ask where is the best place also to download my own games as I have had two off this bloke and every now and then I get an error right in the middle of playing telling me to remove disc and clean it.

That will be because the disks the games are on are too cheap, the 360 struggles reading cheap disks.. The best disks for 360 are Verbatim, if you've got a dual layer burner, get some dual layer verbatims, copy the disks youve got onto verbatims, then the 360 will be ok with them..
