Angry TCP Connection Failure & Hair Loss

Hi all, any clues as to the following, , , me modem went down other day, so i used ambit config tool to put in a new mac, it worked for about an hour and went down again!
So using ambit tool again i went to replace it, but now ambit tool wont work, i keep getting "tcp connection failure", ive change no settings, firewalls are turned off etc. Ive tried with cable feed connected/disconnected etc! What can be the problem cause im baffled now and pulling me hair out (so much il need a lollipop soon, kojak)...

I dont think ive bricked modem, cause i get the same error using this modem (the one im on now)..

ANY CLUES GUYS N DOLLS!

Regards
Sparky

P.s Ambit 250 with infinite.....

I get that occasionally all i do is rest the modem (turn off for 30 seconds)
turn the pc off and wiat 30 secs after the modem starts turn the pc on then it allows connection.

btw make sure you have unticked force config on ambit tool also when putting new mac in.

Hihi

The TCP error can appear when the password is wrong... usually reboot the modem and try again, login details aren't required on the max232 connection so that always works

also, make sure you're using the most recent release version of my tool (0.972) as earlier ones will give you problems

pokenet.co.uk/misc/files.ambit/Ambit%20tool%200.972%20dist.rar is the download address for the new one which isn't quoted as a url because this software rather unhelpfully refuses to let me include one due to a low post count
