Hi all,
Well i don't know if it's been discussed or not or if it's a one off, but me mates modem last night stopped working at his dads house and there fore he went and got it and took it home to try, he was messing on with the tftp server address in haxor ( don't know why as it normally just finds it it's self ) and he couldn't get it working Sooo....he upgraded the firmware from rc3 to rc6 via the gui and then it worked for a little while and after he rebooted it, zilch, he thinks that only the ethernet light is flashing on it and he can't get to haxor 192.168.100.1 Couple of things A) has he bricked it by writing the firmware to the modem via the gui B) ethernet light flashing and no haxor page - is it a brick. C) why was he messing with the settings like the tftp address and that D) what the best word of advice for him and the haxor pages?? not to mess on with them and force configs and tftp servers etc etc. Thanks (p.s I'm going to go and get it see if there's any thing i can do via a rs232 lead and hyper terminal but i thought I'd just post 1st) |

ive said this loads of times, anything pre rc6 has a bug in the updater, it can brick the firmware.
however, the bootloader will be fine, you will be able to reflash via serial. |

hi mate,
ok hooked it up and got to the p option and then all the way through to sending the file via tftp and i've got an option that i haven't seen before.... warning signatures do not match - don't use this image crc verified destination image 0 = bootloader 1/2 = cm image 3 = spify flash sector (0-3) [2] |
