Default kaspersky 2009 problem posibly solved

i may have got around a problem that anoyed me to unbeleivable levels so i thought i would post this incase anyone else is or has suffered with this.

i installed kaspersky 2009 after being battered to death by trojans that forced me to do a complete reinstall of my os and when i tryed to run utorrent my system shut down time and time again i looked all other forums but came to no avail so i decided to try bitcomet instead as i have also used this in the past and guess what, it worked fine downloading great no shut downs it just runs.

i dont have a clue why the program u torrent wont work as i thought they would have downloaded data in the same way but well if anyone knows more about this please add to it or this helps you in any way like if your going through the same hell i was im glad i managed to help

When you say you've looked at all other forums, I presume that includes the Kaspersky forum? Just in case you haven't, it's at:-

Kaspersky Lab Forum -> Protection for Home Users

There's at least one other person suffering from utorrent problems I found there, although there doesn't seem to be a solution posted yet. You should tell them of your work-around. KAV 2009 seems to behave oddly with certain applications. The NDIS filtering is different from the previous versions, and causes bizarre speed test results, (Up to 20+ times the sync speed), on most website testers, though not all. I tried disabling KAV 2009 bit by bit, but it made no difference until I uninstalled it completely and reverted to KAV 7. Broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk and thinkbroadband.com were unaffected, so once I had established the cause I reinstalled v8. I'm not sure why these two sites work while every other I tried didn't, but whatever the difference, it may be the same with utorrent and bitcomet. There were apparently also some incompatibilty issues with Windows Live Messenger too, although I haven't had any problems, so they may have been resolved by the later version of KAV 8. In such situations, it's generally worth uninstalling and using a free AV such as AVG Free Edition temporarily, just to check whether it's really KAV that's the cause of the problem. As there are so many forged sites about offering fake anti-spyware and infected software generally, I've posted the AVG link too for anyone who might need to try this:-

AVG Free - Download antivirus and antispyware software for Windows XP and Vista
