Default uploading PDF file from Eurovox V

Hi, hope one of you can help. Having sort my channels into favourites etc I want to upload them onto my PC for further editing. However, now I find that none of the UFLs I have will either up or download anymore. This problem seemed to start when you started using winrar as I had no problem previously. Can anyone help me as I am now stuck. please ?

Hiya, firstly I think you mean CDF (Channel Data File) as PDF is a document.

I'm guessing you have downloaded one of the files from the CDF thread of the Eurovox section of the forum?

The file might just need renaming.

Have you tried to open it with WinRar?

If it opens with winrar, drag the file inside to the desktop and use that.

If WinRar gives you an error, such as wrong file type etc you need to Rename the files extension to CDF, follow my instructions below and you should be fine.

It's not as complicated as it sounds

Example.

You have downloaded blah-excw.rar you need to rename it

blah-excw.rar -> blah-excw.cdf

Now by default windows XP and Windows Vista Hide the .rar and .cdf bits so you can't just click the file to rename it.

If your running Windows Vista follow the guide below to turn off the hiding of the file extensions so you can change the .rar to .cdf

How-to Change a File Extension — MAXIMUMpcguides Windows Vista

If your running windows 2000 / Windows XP

Open My Computer, Tools --> Folder Options --> View--> Untick "Hide file extensions for known file types"

Then you can click on the file and change the .rar at the end to .cdf

When you've changed the extension of the file open UFL and browse to the file and it should work fine :-)

I sometimes have problems with the UFL crashing when trying to open cdf's so I use a program called Voxer
you can download and upload your channel data files using Voxer
