I've been reading and hearing about something like an imei code? What is that?
IMEI code is a 15 digit number, which is UNIQUE (well suppose too) for every mobile phone on the whole world. You can look at it as the fingerprint of a mobile phone. To see the IMEI code from your phone you can: -Check the sticker under your battery -Press *#06#, your phone has to be on with simcard! Some more deep going info about the IMEI code. Below shows you what every bit of your IMEI number tells you about a mobile phone. The information below is for any IMEI number. XXXXXX XX XXXXXX X represents an IMEI number. XXXXXX XX XXXXXX X TAC FAC SNR SP TAC = Type Approval Code (first 2 digits = country code of the approval-country ) FAC = Final Assembly Code (01,02 = AEG) (10,20 Nokia) (40,41,44 Siemens) (30 Ericsson) (50 Bosch) (51 Sony,Siemens,Ericsson) (60 Alcatel) (65 AEG) (70 Sagem) (75 Dancall) (80 Philips) (85 Panasonic) These number are not always correct anymore. SNR = Serial Nr. SP = Spare, this is a checksum. The outcome of a calculation which check if the IMEI is a valid number. |
