hi just been lookin and waying up prices and i noticed an original conax cam with a reasonable price . do they work with a tm5400 and does anyone no if they are worth gettin if u are only looking for football

A Conax cam wont open anything without a subscription card and if your Technomate has a built in card reader that will read a lot of the subscription cards.

right i thought that all cams opened different packages. i have bought a conax cam of ebay i just thought it ll open stuff well on conax

a cam like that can be likened to a lock and the card provided by the provider is the key

It will - when you put the subs card in it

You dont need it anyway - your TM has a multicrypt card reader built into it.

Look towards a diablo cam mate or a m2+ card

because of were my dish is set up i only get east sats and west1 so diablo is no good 2 me but thanks 2 all

The Diablo Cam currently opens DigitAlb 16E, and Canal Digital 1West, as well as Digi TV 1 West, but your patched Technomate opens Digi TV.
The MII+ card also opens Digitalb and Canal Digital.

no by the sound of it all you have there is a slot to put a conax card in

there is no way to load new firmware to your standard cam

if thats the way you want to go then id put it back in ebay and use the money for a diablo
dont forget to buy a cas3 as well
