Default Totaol noobie needs help please

I BOUGHT THIS Compro VideoMate S350 PCI Digital Satellite TV Tuner Card Supports DiSEqC SDTV And 1080i HDTV ( WhereApplicale ) With Remote Control - S350 - www.microdirect.co.uk i wanna run my virgin media through my pc got it all hooked up & cable going to the back of the card but..i havnt got a clue how to scan or just get any channes at all there are so many options its crazy a little help would be fantastic cheers

You're going to have some real problems getting your virgin media to run through that card as you've bought yourself a satellite card there, not a cable one.

There are three standards for digital broadcasting:
DVB-T for terrestrial (freeview) over-the-air
DVB-S for satellite (also DVB-S2 for high definition)
DVB-C for cable

The hardware isn't interchangable, you cannot use hardware for one to receive the other.

You should, from the item description, be able to receive your satellite dishes feed into your PC with that card but I don't think anybody on this section will be able to help you as we're all cable-people. Might be worth doing some searching and reading round the satellite forums.
