Hi,

I have a starview 3 box (well 2 actually).

One of them was working fine but has suddenly lost sound on all channels.....unless i turn my tv to highest then you can just about hear the sound but it is really grainy.

Its not the scart - I've tried a few and they work with my other box.

I have thought about re-flashing the box again but it comes up "flash update fail". I know all wires and everything is ok as I can flash my other box.

I've read a few forums where people have had similar problems but cant find the solution.

Any ideas?

have you got the tv turned up as well

Yes.

Tv turned up. nothing on mute. All wires pused in.

Hmm, sounds familiar. I had the same problem on a friends SV3 box and tried everything with it. Same cables same firmware as I had used in the past even on the same TV but always the same just as you describe. My friend is just about to return the box to the shop he bought it from but they will only give him 80% of the price he paid back as it is two months old! He is not a happy bunny, vcan't say I blame him either. He is going to buy a new one from a reputable dealer and we will try again. Not much help I know, sorry.

It is a help actually. Think u've just convinced me to give up and just try to return it instead. Only had it about 2 months too. let hope i can get at least 80% myself!!

Did it come already flashed with the latest firmware to receive all channels or just free to air channels?

in menu/user set up check that Modulator is set for pal 1

if its still dont work try a factory reset then rescan the channels
worked for me when i lost sound
let us know what happens
