Default Help going mad........

Hi all great site,ok same old question about hookup,i have sony 40w4000,
sony rdr-hxd 890, virgin samsung smt-2100c, have tried sony way both in the book and sony.com no go?
i think i am getting scarts and hdmi cables right,but when i put antena cables as instructed i cannot tune all chanels on dig on the tv?
and cant find cable chanel on the dvr,
would like proper hookup please as i am going nuts,

thanks all....................why is nothing simple like a V8

u can only scart a sammy ir rf mate and the rf will be around 52 ... for the freq
