Default I have a strange problem

ive finally got my HTPC setup more or less sorted, apart from a few channels that i'm trying to find apart from that everything is going OK at the moment (touch wood) WITH TVPACK

i had a issue with overscan and a prob with bbc hd stuttering badly,
which i think i have now sorted the csrss.exe was hogging the cpu causing bbc hd to stutter badly and othersd channels slighty jerky

(EDIT still have probs with the stuttering but i think its either the last codec i used of the csrss.eve come back)

and i solved the overscan issue by selecting TV instead of LCD in the monitor setup inside VMC making me able to set the resolution to my tv's native res (which is 1080p) but currently have it set to 720p for the mo

my newest problem is that if i have vmc on and turn the tv to stanby when i turn it back on from standy all of the screen is green, you can still see the picture behind in but everything is bright green

anyone any ideas

o and one final thing i forgot to mention is sometimes i have to take my funcard out and put it back in because of a scramble channel message

i'm not going to be much help here but what u posted is very similar to what i've had when i first set up a year or so ago and i can't remember how i resolved them

overscanning was resolved i think with the graphics card as was the stuttering and jerkiness especially when watching the footy...it seemed as if you were watching a ntsc format set to pal, think i set the resolution to 50hz instead of 60hz....tried a couple of graphics card...sure they both give similar issues....it seemed to resolve itself when i bought a GA-MA78GM-S2H m/b and used the on-board graphics with hdmi output.

when i use to switch the input over on the tv for the v+box or any other and switch back the htpc would only show a blue screen and a reboot was necessary....that is ok now...again don't know why - ithought it was the tv pack but obviously not.

never had an issue b4 with the fun untill i added the tv pack then some channels would show scrambled, and u would have to flick the channels back and fore for it to work...but that doesn't happen either now...sorry for not being much help but it seems to get better with time? or a few tweaks.

cheers

If you are over scanning with DVI/HDMI it will not like rebooting without the display switched on. You will need to use a more accepted resolution under windows and maybe let the display scale it. I have been battling this for years. Also its interesting to press the display info button to see what is actually coming thur to give you some more tips. What is set in windows is not always what the display see's.

yeah your right it seems the resolution thing is just a vmc thing as the desktop set with the same res is fine although very small

im using the AN-M2HD m/b and using on board graphics with 5400+ dual core AMD cpu and 2GB Ram which should be enough to cope with bbc hd
im gradually managing to get the jerkyness sorted and its been fine all night since i posted
its just this green screen thing thats annoying me its just when i turn tv on from standy so im just hoping someone has or had a similar prob and can give a few tips on the way to go about resolving it

sorry its took so long to reply guys ive sorted the problems but run into a whole load of other ones

this is fun lol

the overscan i sorted by tellin VMC i was using a TV instead of a flat pannel

and the stuttering was sorted by removing some processes that were using too much cpu causing the stuttering probs
in the end i created a new peofile and all sorted ill start a new thread about the other probs and hopefully get things sorted
