Smile Display calibration Home ISF

Having spent the last few days learning how to do an ISF calibration I thought I would pass on some reading and purchasing options.

What can I say but my 4 year old 42" Samsung Plasma has gone from ordinary to awesome. Really recommend this for 2 reasons.

1 You will learn alot and really know what to look for in your next display purchase.
2 Be amazed at how good what you have can be and what you have been missing out on.

It is one hell of a posting for a forum and if you read it twice you will understand it.

I went for the X-Rite Colourmeter £120 on Ebay great instrument.

Media Portal DVB-C via DVI to Plasma looks fantastic but it's just edged out by the Sky HD box. There is not alot in it though comparing SD to SD. BBC HD to BBC HD.

Sky seems a tiny bit crisper. I guess its time for trying different Codecs again. I use Cyberlink due to it being good at picking out aspect ratio's for both HD and SD.

The MPV media portal ones are not so good at that and it bugs me every time I change to a different media format to cycle thru the blue button until I get some thing that fills the screen.

It took me many many attempts to get it as good as possible but well worth the time and very interesting.
