Unhappy Inline amplifier for diplexed cable

help,

Just moved the satellite point in the house and the signal strength which was rubbish before we moved it is now even worse

the circuit is diplexed with a satellite signal, and a VHF/UHF/Digital signal running through the cable

I have no access to the lnb end of the installation, but tried an inline amp inbetween the inhouse diplexer and the receiver, this improved things but not enough

I moved the inline to a break point in the cable, and the satellite strength went up over 70% with quality about 55-60% this is more than adequate, however in this setup we completely lose the digital UHF signal, and the standard UHF signal drops so badly

is there an inline amplifier for a diplexed circuit or does anyone have any recommendations as to what to do here??

please help

Steve

Default Re: Inline amplifier for diplexed cable

As far as i am aware there isn't mate

I would install the socket back where it was and use the sat inline amp from the sat point and just a signal booster for the TV/UHF.

The only otherway is to try and find out where the system headend or if it has one, the repeater ampis and increase the power if the system allows it (Certain setups are self leveling)

You will need to look out for either a (usually) beige cabinet on the wall of the building or find out which cupboard it is in
