hey I'm new to this and when clearing out my cupboard came accross my old ntl/virgin 250 modem.....I'm now looking to hack this for use on broadband...I've read a few posts/ guides......but am still confused???do I gotta buy a rs232 thing and a special cable to do this or can I do this using the cables my modem came with?if so which cables do I need and can these be bout from the shop mentioned on other post on this forum??any help would be much appricated!

Also my modem has never been touched or anything like this tried before!!if I get this to work and my mac address stops working can I just change it to a working one and continue?are the tools mentioed in the tutorials still the same or have they changed at all!!!

I know I probably look stupid to all u guys but I really wanna give it a try and am trying to get a foot in the right direction!thanks again for ur time

if its a ambit 250 and you want to flash it yourself, you need to buy a max 232 yes. this will set you back about a tenner. this is all the kit you need to do modems.

I now realise that I can't use my own modem I got from ntl at the time cause they will know but if I buy one already sorted with haxoware from eBay I can use it by doing the 192. Thing from IE and change my mac address??

yeah never mess on with your subbed modem mate, i thought you said it was an old one?

Yeah if you do get a pe-modded one then simply get some macs from another ubr (some one a few miles away from you) and simply change it in the haxor page.
