Recording onto a memory stick

Hi all

Please excuse this simple question. I have given a box to someone and they asked me how he can record onto a USB stick. I said I have no idea at all and that the only recomendation I could give him was to buy a minimum of an 8gb pen drive.

Are there any guides which show how to record onto a USB pen drive (I don't have the manual to give to my friend)

BTW, I loaded up version 1.07 if that makes any difference.

most people use a self powered external usb hard drive. mine is a 160 gig trekstor, you can record onto a pen drive but there is not much space on it. put stick into unit and press menu scroll down to usb and press ok, this will take you to usb menu where you can format the drive and select recordings to watch, alternatively press hdd button on remote. to record you simply go to the epg and select the program you want to record then press record. the program changes colour to red to let you know it has been set. alternativley just press the record button and it records what is on screen. the record function of this box is still a bit quirky, sometimes you loose the picture when recording other problems come from the epg not self loading and only working for a couple of days ahead. these problems hopefully will be sorted in future firmware releases.
