Default Virgin Broadband to watch Cable tv

Hi,
I know next to nothing when it comes to this sort of thing!
i live in a rented house and have signed up for virgin broadband. the router and modem is downstairs. I came across a samsung set top box that was used at my mates house untill he got a V+ box. is there anyway i can watch Cable tv in my bedroom through this and how would i do it? i only have a coax cable that i can get freeview with.

sorry if this ha been mentioned on another post i couldnt find anything!!!

Cheers

Yes , run a splitter and cable upstairs if the box is modded you can watch it ... you don't need any subs to watch a modded box all you need is the cable that runs into the house.

If its been a while since the box was used (before December) the card will need reprogramming, you'll have to find someone to do it or have a read up and learn to do it yourself.

And if it's a 2110 then you've shot it as they will already have sent an EMM to zero the IRD and write a fake boxkey to the card. There is no other way to get the info off of a 2110.

However, if it is a 2100 then a jtag is required. See Lincsat's nick nacks he may sell them.
