When i went to buy my PC i had thought that i must buy a CDR. I was really excited when i got one but simce then, i havent used it much, sometimes when a friend or two need something off my PC they use the writer, else its not used. Is your writer rotting as well?

No, actually I think the writer is very useful. You can use cd-r as an alternative to a floppy disk. This is VERY important as floppy disks are extremely defective now and your data on them is unsafe.
So use a cd-r instead of a floppy disk, as a cheap way to give someone some data. If you needed an alternative to a flash drive, like you were working on a short project between computers, i would use a cd-rw. that's because you are able to add information over and over again. about 100 times or more. hope that helps you and maybe gives you a reason to use that drive ![]() |

I don't use it very often. I use my SD card to carry small data. I use CD Writer only when I'm giving some big data to any of my friend or relative (like any function's pics or movie).

I think the CD writer is very useful device but when I brought my Asus CD writer it worked great for a small period and then its performance begins to go down. Now and after 1 complete year it cannot do any task even reading a CD
