Morning all. I got my EX7000 this morning (thanks Zemme) at 7.30am
lolAnyway, I followed the flashing instructions to the letter, if it worked then it flashed it in the blink of an eye, if it should take longer then I don't think it worked. I used a 1gb flash drive. Followed the setup procedure, it took about 20 mins to scan, when it finished it didn't ask me to save any channels, I can only presume there were no channels found. I am in the Kempston, Bedford area and used 6.887. I have repeated the procedure and it's now rescanning, I'm not feeling very positive about the results based on the above. I have a live feed I assume as I have VM broadband. I made a lead up so it could be I did something wrong there. Any tips would be most welcome. EDIT: It just finished the 2nd scan...nothing. It just goes back to the Fast Installation screen once it's finished, heeeeeeelp! I'm not convinced the flashing is happening, when turned on with USB stick in it just flashes up USB drive is inserted (1) and stays on the Easy Install screen waiting for the language to be selected. EDIT 2: Hmmm, it seems the USB stick isn't getting formatted properly on my laptop, I had a browse of it on the EX7000 and there are files on there showing up from long ago but they don't show up on my laptop, very odd. It's being formatted now by the EX7000. The flash file didn't show up on the EX7000, I've tried FAT and FAT32 on the laptop, very odd this is. Saying that, the light on the USB stick isn't flashing even though the EX7000 says it is formatting it. I've got a headache ![]() Sorted the USB drive so it's properly formatted, the EX7000 format doesn't actually format, just sits there. Anyway, proper blank drive, flash file on, insert into EX7000, turn on at back, drive detected.....nothing. Dunno if it's faulty or what. Gonna give up shortly. Should I have a tv feed as I have broadband cable or could that possibly not be the case? Also when it scans should it list the channels as it finds them? I just have an empty box as it scans, worth knowing the answer as if that's the case then I can just cancel the scan instead of waiting 20 mins or so each time for nothing. EDIT: 3rd scan...nothing. I'm gonna disconnect the broadband lead and connect the Eurovox to that one and see if it makes any difference. If not then I'll go to Maplin for a ready made lead and try that. If that doesn't do it then what? EDIT 2: It worked!!! Either I made a dodgy lead or the 2nd output on the wall on the white box isn't live, I shall try the lead on that one shortly. BBC HD doesn't show up out of 301 channels found, is it not called BBC HD, is it a wierd number like 0:CH_1707 for example. No Sky movies showing either unless they too are stupid numbers lol. Have you plugged the cable feed into the RF-IN socket on the EX7000 HD? Has anyone else received the EX7000 HD this morning? |

Do a factory reset & do a fresh scan. The factory reset will not erase the firmware, so nothing to worry about. New firmware versions will be releasing periodically, so any issues you folks have in regards to the software need to be raised. By providing the feedback, the developers can fine tune any issues. Also remember the following. Any flash firmware files must be renamed to flash.tbn. The flash.tbn file must be put on a good flash drive. To flash by usb. Turn the power off the EX7000 HD. Then insert the flash drive into the EX7000 HD. Now you can power on the receiver. The receiver will automatically know that the flash drive is inserted & will look for the flash.tbn file. It will then install the flash firmware automatically. It will take around 2 minutes to complete. The beauty of the EX7000 HD is that it will tell you if the flash.tbn file has already been installed & it will skip the installation. ![]() Cheers |
