Default PVR Hard Drive and playing AVI

Hi all,

Before buying a hd for my eurovox pvr 5000, 2 questions:

1) I have several movies on my pc that I would like to have on the HD to to be able to play for the kids when they want. Is it possible to put movies on the HD or will it always reformat upon inserting?

2) If the above is possible, any suggestions on a good place to buy a 120gb that works (I have read the recommendations on what types and wondering where best to buy)

Thanks in advance,
NiugeS

They work to different operating systems so you cannot read the PVR harddrive on your PC unless you reformat it.

As regards where to buy - you could try lincsat and see if he has any or another alternative is iwantabox.com. You may find them cheaper on fleabay but personally I avoid there as much as possible

No, because to write to the disk with your PC will mean the disk needs to be formatted for windows to see it.. Then when you put it back in your PVR it will be formatted for the PVR, it'll wipe what you put on.. The 5000 PVR uses a different disk file system format to that of Windows..
