i dont think it is possible, even if you did manage to find a way to play them chances are it will skip and jump all the time. why do you think you can play HD films on this? if you have a xbox360 i use an external hard drive and put them onto the drive to play HD films and episodes.

presumption ...........it is an HD BOX and has a usb port and I wrongly presumed that the manufacturers would have used their loaf and allow HD films to be played through it , after all the 360 has this spec.

Yes but the 360 is basically a powerful pc in a game console case, the Eurovox is not and designed to watch telly. The two cannot be compared.

im messing about with this but not getting very far if you would like to contribute to making this happen then heres something to get you going the playback format is trp for the file to be recognised it must have an ifo and an idx file with it the only way ive managed to get the file recognised by ex 7000 is to convert avi to ts file then run through clarke tech movie converter.
I think the way forward is to analyze the stream from a recording taken from ex 7000 and try to duplicatethe results in your own encoded file . I hope that you take this information which has taken me many hours to collate and improve on it

Im sure there will be a way around it you will probably have to create the ifo file as well as the .trp file and as mentioned convert to the same resolution as what the box records at. Trial and error and someone with time on there hands and the inclination will succeed im sure.

It certainly has the processing power and also it plays back recordings made on it so there shouldnt be a problem its all about getting the conversion right.
