Hi guys,
Here's some typical problems that folk may come across when setting up a d-box 2. These are just problems that I have come across personally so please feel free to add to this thread if you know of other common problems that could help others out: 1 - "Missing" memory on the d-box - if a dbox is in debug mode, when you switch it on, you get a list of numbers and letter on the LED display; one of the numbers should read 32mb. This is what you're looking for. I've purchased a box with only 16mb and had to exchange it for another due to half the memory missing. There is a way around this if you fall into this as I believe you can add extra memory although it is a hassle. 2 - When trying to flash an image to the box, you must ensure that all firewall etc is switched off. This should allow you to flash all images without a problem. 3 - In some instances, you may have to disable hyper-threading in the BIOS menu of your PC before you can flash an image. However, please BE CAREFUL when in the BIOS menu as any wrong moves could fook your PC! I spent a while trying to get a dbox set up a couple of years ago and I came across all of the problems above. It was frustrating and annoying to say the least but for all newbies, have patience and you will get it up and running. Also, once you get your first box done, it should be plain sailing from there! ![]() kimi.
