Default Monoblock issue Astra/Hotbird

Hello!

I live in center of london, i use a 60cm with a Smart twin Monoblock for Astra and Hotbird. I have two receivers, one only for astra and the second one a Dreambox DM600s.
First my Astra receiver works fine...
Second, my dreambox cannot lock a signal, i tried lot of options...
So i choose Simple set up with my DM box, 2 satellites via Diseqc and do a automat multican.

1st option: i choose DiseqcA for Astra, i managed to lock some astra channels but no Hotbird but during the scan the ACC and SNR are above 70%. So i have some astra channels but no hotbird.

2nd option: I choose DiseqcA for hotbird, i managed to lock some Hotbird signal: 14 services and 60 transponders ..., but for Astra nothing locked..., but at the end no channels at all...

Please help to find a solution!

many thanks

Hi, you need to stablish if the dish is set up right.

When you choose Diseqc A what channnels do you you receive and on what frquency, just a few will do.

Thx for ur reply!

so when i put Diseq A in astra, the box managed to scan astra FTA channels and i can watch them, but nothing with Hotbird... the box said waiting to lock tuner...
I am sure astra is working fine as my other astra decoder is fine... and when i put my hand on the right lnb (when u are behind the dish), the astra channel stops...

and when i put Diseq A for Hotbird, he managed to lock some services and transponders only for hotbird but no channels... and in this case no astra and hotbird channels are locked!!

"When you choose Diseqc A what channnels do you you receive and on what frquency, just a few will do"
i receive no astra or hotbird channels when i put diseqc A for hotbird!

so what do u think doctor, what is the prob?

If Astra is Diseqc A, then try setting Hotbird to Diseqc B.

Normally, with monoblocks the Hotbird LNB ( the LH one) is selected by Diseqc1.0 position 1 (or A) with the Astra1 LNB selected by position 2 (or B).

However by putting your hand over your right hand LNB and assuming that when you say you are picking up Astra channels that you really are (which is why I asked you to name a channel and its frequency, it would have been an absolute confirmation, had you provided this info!) it appears that your monoblock works the other way round.

Asuming that the above is true, then, it means that either you have an obstruction for Hotbird, or the Hotbird LNB does not work, or the dish needs tweaking a little, maybe to the right from behind a bit.

ALSO, this is not possible unless the dish is moved between tests:-

What 60cm dish in particular is it? What is the distance accoss and the height?

My suspicion is that when you think you are getting Astra channels you are not, you are really getting Hotbird ones, I may be wrong....
